Drawing of Ernest.

I never found charcoal easy to use and still find it very difficult. Of the many head studies done, this was probably the first one I felt happy about.
Charcoal pencil, vine and willow charcoal.

Anyone looking learn more about charcoal should definitely check out Zin Lim's youtube channel.

Life Drawings.

A couple of sketchbook pages from the figure drawing/painting workshops at school.  These were done with Prismacolor pencils, Black and Process Red on Hammermill color copy paper which I had spiral bounded into a sketchbook. More info regarding my favorite materials in a future post.

Happy Lunar New Year!

Welcome to the old but new blog! I'll be using this site as a news and process journal. This use to be the spot for students to share work before Instagram came along. It still is pretty good especially with all the newer customizable features. The best part is that it's free and you can use it to make a pretty decent website. Don Dos Santos over at Muddy Colors has a great post on how to make a free website in less than 10 minutes.
